Alejandra Labastida

Alejandra Labastida (Mexico City, 1979) is currently Associate Curator at MUAC (University Museum of Contemporary Art) in Mexico City, where she has worked in the Curatorial Department since 2008. In 2013, she received the ICI/SAHA Research Award and in 2012, she was the winner of the Akbank Sanat International Curatorial Competition (Istanbul). She was the Assistant Curator of the Mexican Pavilion at the 54th Venice Biennale (2011), and has authored numerous publications on contemporary art. Labastida holds a BA in History from the Universidad Iberoamericana and is currently a Master’s candidate in Art History with a specialization in curatorial studies at the UNAM.
