Alejandra Labastida

Alejandra Labastida is currently the Associate Curator at MUAC (University Museum of Contemporary Art) in Mexico City, where she has worked in the Curatorial Department since 2008. In 2012, she was the winner of the Akbank Sanat International Curatorial Competition. Her recent curatorial projects include, “The Life of Others. Repetition and Surviva” in Istanbul; “You and Whose Army?” in Zagreb; “For the love of dissent, and A partir de mañana, todo” in Mexico city. She was the Assistant Curator of the Mexican Pavilion at the 54th Venice Biennale (2011) and has authored numerous publications on contemporary art. Labastida holds a BA in History from the Universidad Iberoamericana and she is currently a Master’s candidate in Art History with a specialization in curatorial studies at the UNAM.
