Beatrice Petropoulos-White is a Los Angeles native as well as an incoming senior at Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts. She is pursuing a BA in History and a minor in Spanish focusing on gender and sexuality within both fields. She consistently does research in the Smith Archives and has also worked at Los Angles Contemporary Exhibitions, (LACE), during the summer of 2018 working in the archive as well as with contemporary artists Young Joon Kwak and Mutant Salon for their summer residency. Additionally, Beatrice worked at Green Dragon Office alongside graphic designer and book designer, Lorraine Wild. While abroad in Copenhagen, Denmark during the spring of 2019, she studied the changing archives and memories of modern European history while visiting the sites in which the histories occurred. Beatrice participated in competitive Greek folk dancer for 12 years and also plays the clarinet, making both music and dance a huge part of her life. She has also been studying Spanish for many years and is excited to be able to use the language as much as possible this summer. Beatrice has always been interested and connected to various aspects of the art world and is looking forward to working with a program that encourages art and culture within various communities.
