Daphna Noy is a body based artist working in a variety of media. Noy is a graduate of the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design (M.F.A), where she enrolled after earning her bachelor degree in dance (B.Dance with honors) from the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance. Following her formal training in techniques of ballet, belly dancing, modern dance, Floor work and more, Noy traveled to New York to study at Movement Research, a center associated with the legacy of the Judson Dance Theater. After returning to Israel she began collaborate with artists and fellow choreographers, among them Seline Baumgartner, Shasha Dotan and Anat Shamgar and among others. Her work has been showen in the Under the Mountain Festival for Public Art and the Machol Shalem Dance Festival, buth in Jerusalem, with other presentations taking place in art spaces and other locations in Israel. Noy was selected for A-Z WEST, an artist residency program by the artist Andrea Zittel in Joshua Tree, California. She currently teaches at the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance.
