Gris García

Gris García (1986/ Monterrey, México). She is an artist and an independent curator. Her work is centered around contemporary practices and those hybrid productions that emerge from dialogues and correspondences with the other. She studied Visual Arts at the UANL, México; thanks to the study grant offered by FONCA CONACULTA, she received a MA in Artistic Research and Production from Universidad de Barcelona; and attended the MACBAS's PEI (Independet Study Program). She has shown her work in México, Spain, Rusia and Canadá

She has curated projects such as Museo Oral de la Revolución as a part of Paul B. Preciado curatorial team; Balmes 88; Las condiciones posibles; Casa entera. She was curator-in-residence at Lugar a dudas (September-2014/ March-2015.) She was teacher in Curatorial and Critical studies at ITM University in Medellin, Colombia. In 2017 she was part of Capacete Residency a guest project by Documenta 14 between Kassel and Athens. This year she got the Curatorial Research Grant Fundacion Jumex Grant. Currently she is SOMA's Academic Program Coordinator.
