Mauricio Marcín Álvarez (Tapachula, 1980) has been a curator at Museo Experimental El Eco since 2012. In 2013, he curated the project Las Ideas de Gamboa by invitation of Jumex Foundation for the opening of Museo Jumex in Mexico City. The project had three components: an exhibition, a printed volume, and a program of pedagogical events. He edited the book ARTECORREO (2011) and curated the eponymous exhibition at the Museum of the City of Mexico (2009) and the Philatelic Museum of Oaxaca (2011). Previously, he was Curator of El Clauselito (2007-2012), a project space devoted to contemporary art projects in the Museum of the City of Mexico, organizing shows by: Saul Villa, Fernando García Correa, Ricardo Altzati, Edgar Orlaineta, Alejandro Magallanes, Ariel Guzik, Marcela Armas, Iker Vicente, Juan Pablo Villegas, Tatiana Musi, Ale de la Puente, Veronica Gerber, Luis Felipe Ortega, Jonathan Miralda, DEAR, Marcos Castro, and Juliet Aguinaco. He participated in Capacet’s mobile residence in Sao Paulo, Belo Horizonte and Rio de Janeiro, and did a residency in Casa M part of the 8th Mercosul Biennial in Porto Alegre, Brazil (2011). He is currently researching the Apparent Movement.
