Victor Palacios Armendáriz (Mexico City, 1973) is an Art Historian who studied at Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City. He is currently the Head of Visual Arts at Casa del Lago “Maestro” Juan José Arreola, which is part of Universidad Autónoma de México. He has worked as a curator’s assistant and associate curator at Rufino Tamayo Contemporary Art Museum and at Sala de Arte Público Siqueiros. In 2003, he formed part of the ninth generation of the Curatorial Training Programme at De Appel Arts Centre, Amsterdam, The Netherlands. He was a curator’s assistant for Manifesta 5 in San Sebastián, Spain in 2004. From 2005 to 2007, he worked as an independent curator based in Barcelona. During this period, he collaborated in various initiatives with the Hangar Visual Arts Productions Center. He was Head Curator at Museo de Arte Carrillo Gil from 2007 to 2009 and curator of Mexico City’s Museo de Arte Moderno from 2009 to 2012. Palacios Armendáriz is a contributor to Caín and La Tempestad magazines. In the last three years, he had curated and co-curated the following exhibitions: Los comedores de loto (2013), Diógenes y los perros. Un ensayo sobre el ocio (2014), Preludios de una reubicación I (2015), and Los justos desconocidos. De todas maneras cago (2015).
